Happy Halloween from Amsterdam!
On the Singel in Amsterdam a man called Arie created this garden with 80 pumpkins. The giant pumpkin weighs 530 kgs (approx 1000 pounds) and it was grown in the Eastern part of the country. It took 6 neighbors to lift it!
It will go to the elephants of the Artis Zoo later in November.
The Westerkerk was built at the beginning of the 17th C by Hendrick de Keijser. On the clock tower you can make out a rooster, the symbol for Calvinist churches.
Also on top of the tower there’s a crown. This crown is part of the coat of arms of Amsterdam, which you can see below the clock.
Looking for shade😎
In the old town it’s much cooler in the alleys, like Gebed zonder end. The little street takes its name from the monasteries(19) that could be found within the medieval walls. There was non stop prayer going on: gebed zonder end🙏
