Happy King’s Day! April 27th 1967 is the birthday of His Royal Highness Willem-Alexander Claus Georg Ferdinand van Oranje Nassau, since 2013 the King of the Netherlands. The Dutch usually celebrate this day with a “vrijmarkt” (a chance to sell second hand goods without having to pay taxes, imagine a giant yard sale) where even the children show their entrepreneurial skills. You’ll see lots of people wearing orange clothing in honor of the royal family(oranje means orange).
